Batik is an ancient technique for decorating fabrics in Africa, the Middle East, and many East Asian countries. This term pertains to a method for creating designs on fabrics using melted wax and dye. Batik has evolved into a means of artistic expression in Asia, and Africa, and has become a deeply rooted part of the culture in the countries where it is practiced. The techniques for creating Batiks have been used by Africans for several thousands of years.
"Safari at Sunset" includes three hand-dyed Batik panels, created by a Swazi artisan. This is an original piece of art - completely unique and signed by the artist.
Each panel measures approximately 8 & 1/2" x 15"
